Day 69 - Kool-Aid Cool - A Coptic Bound Book

We've got a simple little coptic bound book tonight. Guess what I was stocking the store shelves with today? (Here's a hint: I could make this book in any of eight or nine different flavors.) Did you know that Kool-Aid now comes in Strawberry Kiwi and Berry Blast?

I know it's neither earth-shaking nor entirely original, but in getting ready for a show this weekend, I find my creative energy is a bit limited. It was an easy idea to decide on. And another reason for doing this book comes from some frustration. Even though I have done this binding at least half-a-dozen times, I still need to read the instructions every time to get started. So I don't yet own it. I think a couple more examples will do it, so I'll just keep at it until it's natural.

Side Note: How many of you remember tearing a corner off a Kool-Aid envelope, pouring the powder into the palm of your hand and licking it up with puckered lips until your hand, tongue and fingers were all stained in bright fruit tones?

  1. What a neat little book; so nice and cheery and colorful! I must confess that I have never ever tasted Kool-Aid, either in liquid or powder form. I know - a totally deprived life! I have considered buying some to dye fabric or Easter eggs with, though. Anyway, loved the cute little book. Thanks! - Elaine

  2. Love the little book. Coptic binding always makes a book look so good, sophisticated, I think. And yes! I remember very well tearing the corner off and licking the kool aid!! What a great little memory!
    Thanks.
